Level 3 Technical Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator)

Build the knowledge and skills to work unsupervised with children and young people.

Throughout the two year programme you will complete a minimum of 750 hours at a range of early years settings from 0-7 years.

In class-based and workplace sessions, you will learn about:

• Child development from conception to seven years
• Children’s health and wellbeing
• Providing a safe environment for children
• Preparing for school readiness

Work in a nursery setting or move into higher education, such as the College’s Foundation Degree in Childhood Studies (SEN).

Entry requirements

You will need five GCSEs at Grades A*-C/9-4, including English and maths or a Level 2 qualification in Early Years Educator, with GCSE English and maths at Grade C/4 or above.

You will be interviewed and a place on the course is subject to a DBS check and positive reference. You will also need to demonstrate during interview, that you have the resilience, capacity and attitude required to work in the early years sector.
