Ashford students climb to new heights

Students at Ashford campus were set the challenge to climb their way to the top for one of their recent enrichment activities when a climbing tower came to campus on the back of a trailer!

The climb was around five and a half metres –or just under seventeen feet (in old money) high. The weather was fantastic for us on the day, with azure skies, as you can see from the photo.

Many of our students and one or two staff members had a go, the degree of difficulty varied depending on which route taken. One student really caught the climbing bug and spent over an hour on the wall, she lost count of how many climbs she made! She did comment the next day that her arms were “a bit achy”.

Overall, it was a great opportunity for students to try something a little different, building their confidence and learning new skills outdoors. Judging by the number of people who came along to try climbing out for the first time, it was a great success.
